Mason High School's Greg Bernadsky Eyes Second Consecutive Division I Singles Title
Mason High School's senior tennis sensation, Greg Bernadsky, has once again proven his dominance by clinching the Division I district championship. Fresh off his state title win last season, Bernadsky is on a quest to secure another singles championship. His path to the district final included a decisive victory over Loveland freshman Bode Zappin with a score of 6-2, 6-2. In an all-Mason final, Bernadsky faced off against his sophomore teammate, Janek Teply, ultimately prevailing with a 6-3, 6-3 win. Earlier, Teply had secured his spot in the final by defeating Tippecanoe senior Nick Von Krosigk.
St. Xavier and Sycamore Showcase Strong Doubles Performances in Division I
The Division I doubles competition saw a remarkable performance from St. Xavier, with both finalist teams hailing from the same school. Carson Dwyer and Nihal Narisetty emerged victorious, sweeping their teammates Conor Lynch and Henry Brandt with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 score in the final. Sycamore's Jake Farquhar and Abi Dinesh, after a semi-final loss to Dwyer and Narisetty, secured third place by defeating Mason's Shreyas Mantha and Sean Fu 6-0, 6-4.
Indian Hill Dominates Division II Doubles Landscape
Indian Hill High School's tennis program displayed exceptional strength in the Division II doubles district tournament. Their three top doubles teams, which had already shown their prowess in the sectional rounds, continued their winning streak in the districts. Neelan Gandhi and Gareth Kurowski were crowned champions, defeating fellow Indian Hill players Will Jordan and Vedant Buch 6-0, 6-0 in the final. Jeremy Starczynowski and Yousef Moussa, another Indian Hill duo, secured third place by overcoming Oakwood's Oren Watson and Ronin Boehne with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
Summit Country Day and Seven Hills Advance in Division II Singles
In Division II singles, Summit Country Day's senior Tyler Lammers reached the district final after defeating Seven Hills senior Adi Nayak in the semifinals. Lammers ultimately finished as runner-up, falling to Alter's Michael Shope with scores of 6-2, 6-4. Adi Nayak, despite a fourth-place finish in the sectional round, advanced through his initial district match, beating sectional champion Paxton Lesseuer of Mariemont 6-2, 6-2. Nayak concluded the tournament in fourth place after a loss to Milton-Union's Levi Brumbaugh in the third-place match.
