The race saw Moffat and Mikey Doble, both driving for Power Maxed Racing in their Audi A3 Saloons, establish a commanding lead. Moffat, starting strong, quickly overtook pole-sitter Doble and briefly Daryl De Leon's West Surrey Racing BMW before reclaiming the lead at Brooklands. The contest between the two PMR Audis was dynamic, influenced by their strategic use of TOCA Turbo Boost, with each driver having 14 laps of boost available. However, with only four laps remaining, Moffat received a penalty for exceeding track limits.
Despite the penalty, Moffat managed to cross the finish line just ahead of Doble. It appeared that Doble would extend his winning streak from the previous Croft event. Doble expressed his initial thoughts before the penalty reversal, noting the damp warm-up laps affected tire temperatures and describing the race as a strategic 'game of chess' with his teammate regarding boost usage. He also mentioned his reluctance to actively battle Moffat after learning of the penalty, to avoid hindering his teammate further down the field.
The stewards' decision to overturn Moffat's penalty stemmed from the fact that his off-track excursion was an unavoidable maneuver to avoid a power-stricken Excelr8 Hyundai driven by backmarker Osamu Kawashima. This pivotal decision reinstated Moffat as the race winner. Further down the field, Tom Chilton expertly navigated his Excelr8 Motorsport Hyundai i30 N Fastback past De Leon on the second lap, maintaining third place for the remainder of the race.
Chilton was closely pursued by De Leon and Charles Rainford's WSR BMWs for a significant portion of the race. Rainford delivered an impressive performance, being the highest finisher among drivers utilizing the medium-compound Goodyear tires against a field predominantly on softs. Ultimately, Josh Cook in his Speedworks Motorsport Toyota Corolla GR Sport moved past Rainford on lap 15 and then overtook De Leon on the final lap to secure fourth place. De Leon finished fifth, with Gordon Shedden, also in a Laser Tools-liveried Speedworks Toyota, claiming sixth after passing Rainford.
Adam Morgan in his CPRL Mercedes A35 Saloon finished a solitary eighth, while his teammate Dan Rowbottom lost ninth place to Aron Taylor-Smith's Speedworks Toyota. All three drivers were on medium tires. The championship frontrunners found themselves out of contention in this race due to their limited TTB. Sutton and second-placed Cammish opted for medium tires, while third-placed Tom Ingram chose softs.
Cammish was initially running in eleventh position in his Alliance Racing-prepared NAPA Ford Focus Titanium, ahead of Sutton, which would have theoretically kept the championship battle alive for a few more hours. However, Cammish was forced into the pits, losing two laps, though he managed to rejoin and finish the race. This incident seemed to pave the way for Sutton's championship victory. While Ingram struggled to recover, the five points for eleventh place appeared to seal the title for Sutton, until Chris Smiley's Restart Racing Hyundai unexpectedly snatched the position. Sutton and a resurgent Ingram finished twelfth and thirteenth respectively, with Ingram now eliminated from the title hunt. Adding to the Power Maxed Racing team's joy, Dexter Patterson, despite falling back in the main race, clinched the Jack Sears Trophy title for 2026.
