Residing in Leicester, Andy was a familiar and highly esteemed personality on Britain's inland waterways. Following his retirement from a thriving printing and graphic design enterprise, he fully committed himself to his passion for paddling and expedition touring. He was renowned for his extensive voyages, technical prowess, and the warm, benevolent spirit he brought to every adventure.
Pioneering the Bliss Canoe Trail
In 2017, Andy was an integral part of the pioneering team that successfully completed the 862-mile Bliss Canoe Trail, a remarkable circumnavigation of Britain's inland waterways. This monumental achievement has since inspired many others to embark on their own long-distance canoeing expeditions.
A Mentor to Many
Andy served as the East Midlands Regional Coaching Representative for British Canoeing, now known as Paddle UK, and operated as an independent paddlesport coach and coach educator through his venture, Soarpaddler. In his roles as Coach Educator and Instructor Trainer, he supported the growth and development of coaches and leaders across the region and beyond.

He harbored a particular passion for creating opportunities for young people. Andy played a crucial role in assessing Duke of Edinburgh's Award paddling expeditions, guiding generations of young paddlers through challenging and structured outdoor experiences.
