Saudi Arabia has officially stepped into the automotive manufacturing arena with the launch of its pioneering brand, Ceer. The company has showcased its debut electric models, the Exobot sedan and SUV, which boast a strikingly futuristic aesthetic and advanced all-electric powertrains. These vehicles are set to redefine the country's industrial landscape and global perception in the electric mobility sector.
These innovative vehicles, the Exobot sedan and SUV, are built on a shared modular electric platform, exhibiting a bold, wedge-shaped silhouette. Their design is a fusion of modern engineering and cultural heritage, featuring sleek lighting and an expansive 2.4-meter windshield. Both models feature distinctive Shahin Wing Doors, which open upwards to provide unparalleled access for both front and rear passengers. The interior complements the exterior's avant-garde approach with a minimalist steering yoke, steer-by-wire technology, and dynamic privacy glass on the lower door sections, creating a sophisticated and technologically immersive cabin environment.
Under the hood, the Exobot models feature a potent tri-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering an initial output of 850 horsepower, with a top-tier variant capable of an astounding 1,111 horsepower and 1,500 Nm of torque. The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.6 seconds, with the SUV following closely at 2.9 seconds. Equipped with 112-kWh NCM batteries and an 800-volt electrical architecture, these vehicles support rapid charging, achieving 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes. Range estimates are up to 670 km for the sedan and 560 km for the SUV under the NEDC cycle. Ceer plans to expand its lineup to seven models by 2030, including a mix of electric and combustion engine vehicles, all to be manufactured at the state-of-the-art Ceer Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City.
This bold move by Saudi Arabia into high-performance electric vehicle production highlights a commitment to innovation and diversification beyond traditional energy. By blending cutting-edge technology with culturally inspired design elements, Ceer is poised to contribute significantly to the future of sustainable transportation, fostering a new era of industrial growth and technological advancement within the region and globally.
