The Vancouver Goldeneyes have announced a change in leadership, parting ways with head coach Brian Idalski after the team's inaugural season in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).
Idalski, aged 55, guided the expansion team to a sixth-place standing in the eight-team league, accumulating 37 points across 30 games. General Manager Cara Gardner Morey articulated on Monday that this decision was made as part of a comprehensive evaluation of the organization's future trajectory. She acknowledged Idalski's significant contributions, noting his leadership and experience were instrumental in establishing the team's foundational structure during its debut year in Vancouver. Morey extended gratitude for his dedication and professionalism, wishing him success in his future endeavors. Prior to his tenure with the Goldeneyes, Idalski held coaching positions for women's ice hockey programs at St. Cloud State from 2022 to 2025 and at North Dakota from 2007 to 2017.
