Prime Video Secures Extensive Korean Drama Catalog from CJ ENM for Indian Audience Expansion

Instructions

Prime Video India has significantly bolstered its Korean content library through a multi-year licensing deal with entertainment powerhouse CJ ENM. This strategic partnership is set to introduce over 100 Korean dramas to Indian viewers in the coming two years, marking a substantial expansion of the platform's diverse offerings in one of the world's largest markets.

The comprehensive agreement encompasses a roster of 26 fresh series slated for release during the deal period, alongside an extensive collection of existing shows. All these titles will be readily accessible to standard Prime membership holders. A key feature of this initiative is the provision of English subtitles for every new entry, complemented by Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubbing, catering to India's linguistic diversity. Initial releases under this renewed pact will include the third season of Yumi's Cells, a series that has previously achieved top streaming positions in numerous countries. Other notable additions will feature Filing for Love, a global hit in over 100 territories, as well as The Legend of Kitchen Soldier and the romantic comedy My Bias, My Boss. The library integration will also bring back popular shows such as Dear X, Study Group, Search: WWW, Prison Playbook, and Legend of the Blue Sea, further enriching the viewing experience for Indian subscribers.

This latest collaboration builds upon an existing global distribution agreement established in May 2025, which granted Prime Video international rights to a selection of new series from CJ ENM, Studio Dragon, and CJ ENM Studios. This ongoing relationship highlights CJ ENM's widespread influence and its role in supplying diverse content to major streaming platforms worldwide. The studio, known for critically acclaimed works like Bong Joon Ho's Parasite, has also forged partnerships with other global entertainment giants, including a co-production deal with Warner Bros. Discovery for K-dramas on HBO Max across the Asia-Pacific region, and a separate agreement making Disney+ the exclusive Japanese home for a significant portion of its content. This extensive network underscores CJ ENM's pivotal contribution to the global proliferation of Korean entertainment.

The growth of Korean content globally is a testament to its universal appeal and storytelling excellence. Such collaborations not only expand access to diverse cultural narratives but also foster greater understanding and appreciation among different audiences, creating a vibrant global entertainment landscape where quality content transcends borders.
