FAQ

Ⅰ. Can I learn without experience? What are the advantages?

Yes! You can learn! In the healthcare industry, becoming a medical assistant usually requires completing 6 to 8 months of post-secondary education at your own expense, which can be a financial burden for some people who aspire to work in the healthcare field. However, OMNI College offers a unique opportunity through the Health Career Access Program (HCAP), providing applicants with little or no experience in the healthcare field with a path to get hired and receive paid training while on the job.

Training advantages:

▸Government-funded education: The HCAP program is funded by the provincial government, which means that the cost of higher education for participants will be paid by the government, greatly reducing the financial burden on individuals.

▸Weekly allowance: In addition to education funding, trainees receive a weekly allowance during training to support their studies and life during training.

▸Paid training: HCAP new employees usually start as medical support staff and receive paid training, which not only allows them to gain practical experience, but also guarantees income during training.

▸Career development: Through HCAP, trainees can eventually become a fully qualified medical assistant, laying a solid foundation for career development.

▸Quick employment: After completing training, participants in the HCAP program can usually directly apply for medical assistant positions with employers who contact us and quickly find employment.

Ⅱ. What is the NCLEX pass rate of OMNI College?

OMNI College has achieved great success in the NCLEX exam. So far, we have seen a 100% pass rate for all OMNI College students who have taken the Canadian NCLEX-RN exam. (https://www.omnicollege.com/)

Ⅲ. How is the nursing job market in Canada?

Since the college was founded in 1999, 95% of students who have taken the Canadian Nursing Licensure Examination have successfully passed, and 94% of graduates have found employment within 1 month of graduation. In addition, the majority of these students have found employment even before graduation. (https://www.omnicollege.com/)

IV. Is your course for LPN or RN registration?

Although OMNI's Canadian Nursing Review Course includes exam preparation, our course does more than just help you pass the licensing exam. Our course is designed to prepare students to successfully become nurses in Canada. Students who wish to pursue their RN license can choose the NCLEX-RN exam preparation course when completing their portion of the course, or they can choose the CPNRE to prepare for LPN/RPN registration. Students can choose which qualification they want to pursue.

V. Are there student loans? If so, how do I qualify for a loan?

For Canadian residents: OMNI College is a StudentAidBC designated institution, which means that financial assistance is available to eligible students. Please visit their website at www.studentaidbc.ca for more details.

VI. Can I get a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) after graduation?

The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program is a national program that is currently only available to students who graduate from a public college or degree-granting institution. OMNI College is a private institution.

However, even without a PGWP, our students can gain the right to stay in Canada after graduation by becoming licensed nurses. By obtaining nursing jobs, OMNI students are eligible for a variety of permanent residency options in multiple provinces across the country.

VII. Can I work while studying at OMNI College?

Yes. OMNI College is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) under the International Student Program (ISP) approved by the Canadian government. International students enrolled in our Canadian Nursing Refresher program are eligible to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during their studies and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks without a work permit.

What careers are possible with the HCA program?

You may not know that after completing the HCA (Health Care Assistant) program, graduates can look forward to a wide range of employment prospects. Here are some possible career paths:

▸ Hospital settings: Many HCA graduates work in hospitals, assisting nurses and doctors in providing patient care, including ward management, basic clinical care, and patient transportation.

▸Long-term care facilities: In nursing homes or long-term care centers, HCAs can participate in daily care work to help the elderly and residents who need long-term care.

▸Clinics and doctor's offices: In these settings, HCAs are responsible for receiving patients, recording health information, and assisting with routine examinations and simple laboratory tests.

▸Community health services: HCAs can work in community health centers, participate in public health programs, and provide disease prevention and health education.

▸Rehabilitation centers: In rehabilitation centers, HCAs assist physical therapists and occupational therapists to help patients with rehabilitation training.

▸Home care: Some HCAs choose to provide care services in patients' homes to support patients with chronic diseases or in recovery.

With the growing global demand for medical professionals, the employment prospects of HCAs are very promising. In addition, HCA work experience can also serve as a springboard for further education and career development, such as becoming a registered nurse or other advanced medical positions. Therefore, completing an HCA program not only provides immediate employment opportunities, but also lays a solid foundation for long-term career development.
