The Mission Efficiency's superior aerodynamic performance is attributed to a compact frontal area and three adaptable cooling flaps. These elements, combined with specially designed wheel deflectors and custom low-rolling-resistance Continental tires, significantly minimize air turbulence. The vehicle's fully covered underbody and a narrower rear axle further enhance airflow, contributing to its exceptional efficiency.
During a rigorous 794-mile journey from Wolfsburg to Vienna, the Mission Efficiency concept demonstrated its potential by requiring only a single recharge. It arrived with 102 miles of remaining range, suggesting a theoretical total range exceeding 870 miles. Achieving an average speed of 42 mph and an energy consumption rate of 7.51 kWh/100 km (including charging losses), or an even more impressive 6.89 kWh/100 km without them, highlights its remarkable energy optimization. Under optimal conditions, with auxiliary systems deactivated, the vehicle achieved a record average consumption of 6.48 kWh/100 km, showcasing its engineering prowess.
