Cultivating Connections with Architectural Luminaries

The opportunity to engage with the foremost figures in contemporary architecture is a cornerstone of the Yacademy experience, beginning right in the classroom. Each Yacademy course features a design workshop led by renowned international firms. For example, Andreas Fries and Tommaso Bernabò Silorata of Herzog & de Meuron guide the 'Architecture for Exhibition' course, focusing on the creation of immersive cultural spaces. Paolo Matteuzzi, Director at ZHA Architects, oversees the 'Off-site Technologies for Architecture' workshop, where students master modern fabrication techniques. The 'Earth Architecture' course, a collaboration with Wienerberger, is tutored by Benedetta Tagliabue and Simone Contini from Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects, blending traditional knowledge with modern design. Finally, Luca Bussolino, Partner-in-Charge and Head of Strategy + Innovation at Carlo Ratti Associati, leads the 'AI for Urban Regeneration' workshop, instructing students on leveraging artificial intelligence for precise master planning. Additionally, special lectures from industry icons like Kazuyo Sejima (SANAA), Nicola Scaranaro (Foster + Partners), Arne Emerson (Morphosis), and Giuseppe Zampieri (David Chipperfield Architects Milan) enrich the educational journey.
